Coffee on The Crescent— Headingley Leeds

Here at Coffee on the Crescent, we’ve not just been making coffee during lockdown. Here’s what we’ve been up to behind the scenes to improve the environment around us.

We love The Crescent – but behind the shop, bins have been overflowing. What’s meant to be a public footpath has been blocked by rubbish. And the problems are compounded by weekly flytipping.

Every week, we’ve taken all the cardboard out of the communal bins, and put it in our recycling bins.

And we started clearing the footpath of debris. We asked the Council, and they helped. Not a bad result!

We started planting outside the shop. But we didn’t stop there. We wanted to give some love to the Birdcage. We made a plan. And made a start – with a little help from our friends.
