Explore Headingley’s Heritage In 1991 European Heritage Days were launched to raise appreciation for Europe’s rich and diverse cultural assets, and in 1994, England joined in. Our Heritage Open Days are held in September every year, when the doors are opened to historic monuments and buildings, especially those normally closed to the public. In Leeds, events are co-ordinated by Leeds Civic Trust, and Headingley is taking part again, with over a dozen events at many venues in and around Headingley.
